It was a crucial victory for the Hammers as they are now nearing the end of their play-off in February against a team that dropped to the Champions League.

Moyes was able to even make eight changes to his side, resting on his preferences Declan Rice by Michail Antonio, and still working well.

With Vienna in a new block of coronavirus the game was played in an empty stadium, Rapid was unable to call their violent fans to raise them, and West Ham just had a lot of class.

He was just about to get off to a good start when Arthur Masuaku ran a small ball into the box to make it slippery. Jarrod Bowen release immediately after 5 minutes.

Nikola Vlasic and Yarmolenko both fired slowly and opened the light from the visitors.

The only moment of a gentle alarm came when Kelvin Arase entered the shootout, and his effort was saved by defender Alphonse Areola on the way to the fifth in Hammers’ six games.

Their dominance claimed six minutes and a half before Vlasic crossed the left and Yarmolenko was left with an easy header behind the goal.

It was Hammers’ first goal since January for a Ukrainian player, who has only played 52 minutes Premier League this season.

Yarmolenko contributed significantly to the second goal in the first half after turning Rapid’s captain Maximilian Hofmann into the region and knocking him down.

Captain Noble, the man who enjoyed the European tour in his 18th and final season at the club, made no mistake about it.

After the break, Bowen ran into the area with three defenders, but his shot was aimed at Rapid Paul Gartler.

Gartler also denied Tomas Soucek following Bowen before closing the line.

Young striker Sonny Perkins replaced Hammers’ first appearance on the team and was close to scoring after a cross from Vladimir Coufal with a fine header, but Gartler miraculously saved and West Ham had to settle for two.
