General Kenneth McKenzie, chief of the US Central Command, has acknowledged that Iranian ballistic missiles are highly sophisticated.
The official warned that Iran has a “very powerful” missile program, calling it “one thing Iran has done in the last three or five years.”
Iran has shown that its arrows have the potential to hit the target accurately, McKenzie said.
In January 2020, Tehran launched more than a dozen arms embargoes from a three-state bloc in western Iran that hit two Iraqi stadiums, Al Asad and Erbil, where hundreds of Americans stood. The arrows rendered homes, airplanes, and living quarters in ruins. No one was killed, and many more were able to take refuge in the basement and canals, but the blast injured 100 American soldiers.
The war was to avenge Washington’s assassination of Tehran, Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad, Iraq.
“The arrows hit within tens of meters of what they wanted,” McKenzie said, “one thing the Iranian people have done over the last three to five years has built a very effective missile tower.”
Iran has called the January 2020 operation a “face-to-face” operation in the United States, stressing that “such a war is not enough, and the presence of American corruption must end.”
