Sources: Big Ben playing last season for Steelers

Ben Roethlisberger he secretly told his former teammates and teammates that he hoped this would be his last quarterback. Pittsburgh Steelers, league sources told ESPN.

Roethlisberger has not announced this publicly, and probably will not, as he does not want the final part of the season to be about him as Pittsburgh tries to make a playoff kick.

But sources say he is a member of the team working as he participates in the last five games of his Hall of Fame career, and two of them are coming up right. Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh’s opponent on Sunday and in the final all-time game.

Roethlisberger is in the final year of his contract. He is 39 years old and turns 40 in March, and has seen all of his classmates, such as Eli Manning and Philip Rivers, move on to the next chapters of their lives. Roethlisberger’s 18 seasons with one team are the most successful quarterback in NFL history.

Roethlisberger told many that he would not like to play anywhere other than Pittsburgh. This does not mean that he will not appear next season in another NFL city, but it is “very unlikely,” according to one source.

And that means this year is expected to be one of the biggest Steelers players. Roethlisberger will leave the fray with more victories, ground runs and yards passing than any quarterback in Steelers history.

His 410 appearances for Sunday’s game are the eighth in NFL history. His more than 62,870 yards are the sixth in NFL history. His 161 successful career is the fifth in NFL history.

The fact that this is expected to be the NFL’s last season for six seasons Pro Bowler is not surprising to many around the organization. They felt that last season would be Roethlisberger’s last season and, in a way, the team seemed to be preparing for this, turning more of his team on the ugly side of football this season and changing the future.

The Steelers, for the most part, have the lowest series in the league, with players looking in the middle and leaving the battlefield as well as playing fast and farther.

Even the Steelers have quarterbacks Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins on their list, there are questions about whether it is likely to win Roethlisberger. After a season when he was not too busy with freelance work (except for household chores), the Steelers seemed to have a comfortable space to be aggressive in the backyard.

At 5-5-1, the Steelers will need a final push for the postseason to give Roethlisberger another chance to try to add to the two Super Bowl titles he has already helped bring to Pittsburgh.

The Steelers’ home break is Week 17 against Cleveland Browns on January 3, a game that will be unveiled on ESPN Monday Night Football. Pittsburgh closes season fixed in Baltimore on Jan. 9.
