ISTANBUL (Reuters) – Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati said on Saturday that prices in Turkey would fall to number one by the time the presidential and parliamentary elections are expected in the mid-2023, by a record 36% of 36% in December.
Speaking to heads of NGOs in Istanbul, Nebati also said that the exchange rate in Turkish lira will increase in the coming weeks.
He added that as of Friday evening, $ 131 billion ($ 9.69 billion) had been deposited in accounts under a government program to protect the currency of the lira.
