"It helped me grow my game" – Kyle Jamieson explains how IPL experience aided him heading into India vs New Zealand Test series

new Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson has agreed to play in IPL in front of Test list against India it really benefited him even though his appearance was different in nature.

Jamieson (3/47) was named New Zealand’s first soccer player on the 1st Day of the Kanpur Test. He dismissed Mayank Agarwal (13), Shubman Gill (52) and Ajinkya Rahane (35) to ban India from 145 to 4. Unbeaten run between Shreyas Iyer (75 *) and Ravindra Jadeja (50 *) elevated India to 258 for 4 on stumps.

Asked if playing in the IPL helped Jamieson prepare the list in any other way, the tall athlete said it did. Speaking at a press conference at the end of Day 1, he explained:

“Obviously, (IPL) is a very different race but I knew some of the content here. I also had to experience it all over India. very good to move out of the list. ”

Kanpur match is the first example of Jamieson bowling at Test matches in Asia. When asked if he would make any changes to fix the problem, the Kiwi athlete replied that it was a lot of psychological work. He said:

“No, not a big (changing) amount. From a psychological point of view, I probably tried to move my head without trying to change my game. I was lucky to have guys like Tim (Southee) and Wags (Neil Wagner). For me, it was about taking my game. and to modify it a little which is set before us. “

Jamieson and Tim Southee were selected to run in the Kanpur exams, while Neil Wagner was dropped.

“There was a slight change” – Kyle Jamieson

Jamieson reported that on Day 1 there was a shift. Asked if the high level of uniformity helped his football, the 26-year-old said:

“There was a bit of a change. Don’t think it was a lot of money. We didn’t always see the balls go up and down. The odds were a little lower but I didn’t see any real difference at all. You just have to try and settle there. it can go down a little. ”

With the exception of Jamieson, Southee (1/43) was the only boxer to take the wicket to New Zealand on the day as all three bowlers failed. In support of the slow shooter, Jamieson said:

“I don’t think there was much help for them. We have never seen balls grow or come down or spit. That’s why both of them probably come into the game as the game progresses. On Day 1, it was no big deal for them. ”

Three New Zealand spinner bowlers, Ajaz Patel, William Somerville and Rachin Ravindra, dropped 52 overs in 166 runs.
