Ireland defeated the Netherlands 29 times Thursday to advance to the 2021 Women’s Cricket World Cup, returning with a six-wicket win over the West Indies in their first match.

Openers Leah Paul and Gaby Lewis recently made it a point to give Ireland a good start and did not disappoint when they were asked to bat first in their Group A game.

The pair set up a stand of 61, Caroline de Lange before applying the brakes on the opening shot for both of them.

Ireland lost most of the wickets recently and was found to be 85 out of five, with Eva Lynch removing Shauna Kavanagh and Orla Prendergast to release the series.

Skipper Laura Delany and Eimear Richardson rallied for redemption and got Ireland out of trouble, adding 85 runs for the sixth wicket.

Heather Siegers ran the rest of the season with four wickets, plus Delany and Richardson ropes while Ireland bowled 199.

Prendergast made its best fighting innnings by removing Juliet Post in vain in the third hour.

However, Babette de Leede and Sterre Kalis endured the initial storm with a 59-year contract.

After De Leede was sacked for 34, Robine Rijke joined Kalis in the crease. Their 73-run run took the Netherlands closer to victory, though Kalis was close to achieving half of the years he had to do with just three trips.

The need to chase the ball in the last 10 overs with seven wickets in hand, seemed like a Dutch chase.

Two runners-up, along with the Siegers ambassador, changed the course of the prendergast game before striking to oust the 56-year-old Rijke.

In order for 35 from the last four overs, the pressure of the required level reached the Netherlands when they lost in 29 defeats. The Dutch, who were traveling at 158/3, were chased 170.

The victory has given Ireland a great opportunity to reach the Super Six stage, with the Dutch still undefeated in the tournament. group of four – the top three in all these categories are eligible.

Ed Joyce’s team will have a few days off before their third major game on Monday – a match against Sri Lanka at 7:30 am GMT.
