Azerbaijani MoD visits newly established commando unit (PHOTO/VIDEO)

The work of developing the Azerbaijan Army’s military capabilities under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, continues, Events reports on Nov. 26 refer to the ministry.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, and other senior officials of the ministry visited a newly formed commando team to participate in the handing over of berets to the group’s commanders.

First, government officials placed a wreath at the explosion of President Heydar Aliyev and a monument to the martyrs, who gave their lives for their integrity in Azerbaijan, built a military parade, in honor of their memory.

Hasanov met with the 2020 World War II veterans in Karabakh and asked them about their plight and needs.

Then the ceremony to hand over the berets to the soldiers took place.

At the opening ceremony, a memorial service for President Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs was celebrated with a moment of silence, after which a national anthem was sung.

When the beads were handed over to the successful staff of the Commando Training Courses, the staff took the Commando Oath.

Speaking at the event, the minister emphasized the importance of Commando Training, based on the experience of the Turkish military, in developing the skills of the staff and wishing them well in the work.

He also gave the necessary instructions to the military to be ready at all times to carry out the new military duties of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

In addition, the minister praised the bravery and heroism shown by the Azerbaijani Army, as well as the military personnel involved in the Second World War in Karabakh.

After getting acquainted with a special commandos’ sports camp, Hasanov observed the exemplary performances of gymnastics teams.

Eventually, the ministry leadership ate lunch with the soldiers.
