Arsenal ask Tottenham for a delay

Arsenal have made a request to the players Premier League to resolve a dispute with Tottenham on Sunday.

Following Thursday’s clash against Liverpool, manager Mikel Arteta has a number of injury issues to deal with. In addition, Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey are away from the Africa Cup of Nations, where Xhaka has been suspended.

A decision has to be made if the match continues on Saturday.

“The Premier League has received a request for a delay by Arsenal FC regarding their away match against Tottenham Hotspur, which will be played at 4.30pm on Sunday 16 January,” the Premier League said.

“The Premier League Board is meeting tomorrow to review its work and inform all clubs and its fans of its decision.”

Carragher encourages Arsenal to sell Xhaka

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Carragher has urged Arsenal to sign Xhaka.

The Swiss players were released early in the match at Anfield, which resulted in five red cards since they moved to the club.

Although Xhaka has been a hard worker at times, he often leaves the party with a hasty decision.

“The thing that Xhaka has is that we said before the game that every manager picks him up, and he is a good man, well educated, a good kid, and a good player, we have seen it in Swiss shirts and time in Arsenal shirts,” said Carragher.

“But he is responsible for this tonight.”

Arteta has stated that he is not sure if Bukaka Saka will be available for the Spurs game, if it continues.

The England international came out on top in the game as Liverpool excelled in defending the team.

So he enjoyed a great campaign and as a graduate of Arsenal he would want to look good in the team’s biggest game.

“He heard something at the last minute, he was very tired,” Arteta said after the Liverpool game.

“I do not know. He is a young boy and he recovers quickly. But he has played many minutes in the last few months so let’s see who’s there.”
