Apple TV+ gains market share in the United States while Netflix loses it

Apple TV + is getting it but it has a long way to go before it can do any major advertising work.

As reported by JustWatch (via 9 to 5mc), Apple TV + has acquired one market share in the United States in the fourth quarter of 2021. This has led to a double market share in recent years. The advertising industry now controls 5% of the country’s advertising market.

Although it is good news to see this Apple TV + is gaining profits in a crowded market, it still has a long way to go for major projects. HBO Max, which is in fifth place and is about to be released by Apple, has a 12% stake in the market.

By comparison, the HBO Max owns 12% of the stock streaming in the United States, while Hulu and Disney + (both Disney) earn 13% in each market. Amazon Prime Video comes second with 19% share. Unsurprisingly, Netflix remains in first place by 25% – although subscribers fell by 2% compared to the previous quarter.

While the 2% profit may not seem like a huge one, it comes as two major ones, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, have lost market share.

In 2021, the SVOD market saw a significant growth in competition. Apple TV + ended the year on its highest market so far, adding 2% year-over-year. Netflix and Prime Video are constantly losing market as other platforms like HBO Max, Paramount +, and Discovery + have grown bigger. By adding +5%, the HBO Max had its most successful year in 2021.

Apple TV + is available for $ 4.99 a month which is now four times cheaper in the United States compared to the equivalent Netflix segment. This service is also available as part of any Apple One bundle registers.
